Poolside Artificial Turf
Poolside areas need turf that can handle constant moisture, sunscreen and chlorine exposure, and bare feet, which is why we use turf products with proper permeable backing and infill suited for wet, high-exposure environments rather than standard landscape turf.
Drainage is the top priority for any poolside installation, since these areas experience constant splashing and runoff in addition to Kendall's regular rainfall. Turf installed without adequate permeability quickly develops standing water or a slick, unsafe surface near the pool.
Surface temperature is another consideration specific to poolside spaces — turf installed in full sun near a pool deck can get uncomfortably hot underfoot in summer, so we select fiber types and colors that manage heat better for bare feet compared to darker, lower-quality turf products.
Chlorine and sunscreen exposure can degrade lower-quality turf fibers over time, which is why poolside installations use turf specifically rated for this kind of chemical exposure rather than standard residential-grade product.
Base preparation around a pool deck often involves working around existing concrete, coping, or decking materials, requiring precise cuts and edging so the turf integrates cleanly with the pool's existing hardscape rather than leaving awkward gaps.
For families with children, poolside turf also offers a softer, more slip-resistant surface than bare concrete, reducing the risk of slips near wet pool decks while keeping the area from tracking mud or grass clippings into the pool itself.
Maintenance involves periodic rinsing to remove sunscreen residue and chlorine splash buildup, along with standard brushing to maintain fiber appearance, keeping the poolside area looking fresh with minimal ongoing effort.
